Dirty Water

I love my dirty carpet.  Well, actually...  I love cleaning my dirty carpet.  To the point where I think it might be bordering on an obsession.

Seriously, I find something very satisfying about running that Bissell PowerSteamer over the dirty floor and seeing it suck up all that brown water.  In fact, the only thing more thrilling is actually emptying the reservoir and seeing all that nastiness first hand.  The dirtier the water - the better!!

Yes,  I know it's gross.  And disgusting.  Especially if I stop to consider that all that was just in my carpet!  But, it still gives me a sense of accomplishment to look at what I just cleaned up.

So, I'll keep cleaning the carpet.  And getting just a little excited when it's time to empty the dirty water.  And maybe filling out an application to be on an episode of "My Strange Addiction".

  1. Hi. Stopping by from NaBloPoMo. If you lived near Chicago, I'd let you clean my carpets too.

    1. Thanks for stopping by Stacey! Sorry, no where near Chicago. But that does lead to the question: would it be equally satisfying if it were someone else's carpet that I was cleaning; or is it only because it is my own? Hmmm...

  2. Your post made me laugh! I'm the same way about seeing all the dirt collect in the vacuum canister. The more dirt the better -- it's really my favorite part of vacuuming. Glad I'm not alone :)

  4. Oh Beckey! You’re so hilarious! But you have a pretty interesting addiction, huh? Deeply cleaning your carpet will free your home from indoor air pollution caused by trap smells, dirt or dust. Go on with that kind of hobby until that water becomes clear. I know that will give you some peace of mind. =)
