Warning: This post has a bit of an EW!! factor
How often do you replace your bath puff or sponge? If you're cheap frugal like me - that answer may be less often than you care to admit!
Did you know that experts recommend replacing your shower pouf every 3 to 6 weeks? Yep!
Why? Those little lathery puffs are ideal breeding grounds for bacteria, mold, and yeast - that's why! (you were warned... EW!) Bath puffs and sponges are warm, moist environments where these organisms grow quickly. If you don't replace them regularly, you could expose yourself to infection and rashes, as well as promote mold growth in your bathroom. (another EW!!)
There is a solution other than buying a new pouf every couple of weeks - Machine Washable Cotton Bath Puffs!!
You can keep these little lovelies free from bacteria, yeast, and mold simply by tossing them into the washing machine on a regular basis (at least once a week) and either machine or air drying!
They are crafted from 100 % cotton yarn and have a braided loop for hanging. And at $10.00 (+shipping) they cost less over time than buying a new synthetic bath puff every month!
Cleaner and less expensive. It's a win/win!

i throw our bath puffs in the dishwasher along with all sponges once a week
ReplyDeleteExperts do say if you wash synthetic puffs they can last 8 to 12 weeks, but still recommend replacing them regularly
DeleteI am in love with my puff and washcloth I bought from you. They are sooooo soft and I feel good knowing I can wash them weekly. :). My daughter is excited to receive the ones I purchased for her last night. :)
